I Wanna be THAT Guy

How many times have you glanced out the window to see your pet rolling in the dirt or grass, seemingly content with that particular task, only to jump up, chase a butterfly for a few seconds, and then resume the rolling bit? Ahhh, to be this guy:

Judging from the look on his face, he doesn't have any deadlines this week.

Laughing Squid recently posted about this guy, who has mounted a catcam on one of his cats (Mr. Lee) in order to show the world a cat's eye view of how tough life can be.

Sending poop okay - and fun, too!

Kathleen Ensz, charged in Weld County, Colorado, with criminal use of a noxious substance, was acquitted late last month by a jury of her peers. Ensz, after receiving one too many mailers from Republican Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, filled a mailer with doggie doo and sent it back to Musgrave.

Apparently, mailpoop.com has been doing it for years, serving up fresh samples and sending them anonymously to deserving recipients. Thankfully, the anonymity is no longer needed! Yay legal system!

Karlstorp Street View - Version 2.0

As you already know, you civilized people, you... Google Maps has introduced Street View, which allows you to stalk ex-girlfriends and boyfriends as they roam the streets of the city that you used to call the "love nest," that is - as long as your love nest was in SF, Las Vegas, Denver, Miami or New York. I feel for that poor, spectacled intern who had to walk the streets of these five cities, snapping away with his digcam. But, it was nice of Mr. Google to throw Denver in there. Chicago? No, Denver. Mmmm, fun.

It's a pretty cool gig, check it out if you haven't already. (Like Google needs me to link to their map. On second thought, I'll change that link. Google doesn't need my charity. The last link will now take you to a sketch of a potato on a skateboard.)

So I took a little walk to my old 'hood, down Pacific between Powell and Mason in SF. Right there on good old Wayne Place. Too bad Google Maps can't take us inside and see what the people who live there now are doing. Oh right... soon.

Grythyttan, Sweden is not available on Street View yet, to my disappointment. The closest I get to my place via Google Earth is this:

And then there's the airplane photo version, as brought to you by Eniro:

But really, it doesn't cut the mustard. I mean, when I'm away from Karlstorp, I want to be not away from Karlstorp, so being able to take a virtual look at the place no matter where I am in the world is key. So I am proud to announce the launch of Karlstorp Street View, 2.0. Here are some screen shots:
To get the "I am really there" feeling, you still have to print out the images and hold them up right next to and all around your head and then sort of spin around and stuff. But those kinks are being worked out. And yes, that's a bath tub. You can take the boy out of West Virginia, but you can't take the West Virginia out of the... wait. I've never even been to West Virginia. Sorry.

The truth is that I was so proud of myself for mowing the lawn that I ran around and took a ton of pictures. Proud because it has been raining like hell recently, so I haven't been able to cut it for a couple weeks, and it had grown like crazy. What normally takes 3 to 3.5 hours took about 6 yesterday. But there's nothing like sitting back with a beer at the end of a mowing session and admiring your work. That's some good duck.

Denver?
